When: Thursday, May 4
Time: 10:30-11:30 a.m. (Central)
With the regular legislative session ending on May 29, 2023, the Texas Municipal League staff is vigilantly monitoring the bills that most directly affect cities. House and Senate floor amendments to bills can carry remnants of other bills that were already defeated or languished in committee. Differences in House and Senate bills passed in the final days are often referred to conference committees where unexpected compromise language can emerge in a “conference report” bill. It can be difficult to track a bill through this frenzied process, but TML staff is on top of the process advocating for city interests.
In this one-hour webinar, you’ll learn what to expect in the final weeks, and why city officials can never assume a bill is dead. Some battles may be over, but no bills are truly dead while the Legislature is in session.
